Mesh refers to fabrics with mesh. The types of mesh are divided into: woven mesh, knitted mesh and non-woven mesh. Each of the three types of grids has advantages and disadvantages. There are 3 weaving methods for sunshade net:

(1) Using the change of jacquard structure or the method of reed, the warp yarns are threaded into a reed tooth in groups of three, and fabrics with small holes on the cloth surface can also be woven, but the mesh is easy to move and the structure is unstable, so it is also called fake leno;

(2) Two sets of warp yarns (ground warp and twisted warp) are used to twist each other to form a shed and interweave with weft yarns (see leno weave). Among them, the twisted warp is twisted on the left side of the ground warp with a special twisting heddle (also known as a half heald), and twisted to the right side of the ground warp after one to five weft insertions. The mesh hole formed by weft yarn interweaving has a stable structure and is called leno;

(3) Plain weave and square weave use reed tooth density and weft density to form mesh (screen). Knitted mesh is also divided into weft-knitted mesh and warp-knitted mesh. The finished product has many names.

Second, the classification of mesh

Mesh is mainly divided into three categories:

1. Collar accessories, such as velvet, bk cloth;

2. The main material mesh is used for the exposed part of the upper surface, which is light in weight, good in air permeability, and resistant to bending, such as sandwich mesh;

3. Lining accessories, such as Lixin cloth. The main features are wear resistance and good air permeability.

3. Application of mesh

In order to achieve a light and breathable effect, running shoes and tennis shoes will use a large area of mesh; while the tongue of basketball shoes also uses mesh products, and other parts rarely use mesh.

Since 2001, the fashion concept of woven uppers has been proposed, which can be said to be a material with various patterns. However, the disadvantage of mesh is "too soft". Basically, it is not unsupported, it is too sensitive to the environment such as sweat, and it will be scratched or broken by the hook. After all, the material is cloth. Therefore, mesh is generally used for running shoes and other shoe bodies that have strong requirements for breathability and lightness.
